A Rough Landing

9:58 am kids will be kids

My big daughter Les had a rather rough landing the other day. I felt so bad about it, but at the same time I couldn’t help laughing (inside). She tripped and fell, literally, on her mouth. I don’t even know how it’s possible to do that. I always thought your arms would thrust forward instantly after your body realized you’re falling. But that never happened in her case.

Later, I was told it was the same with my sister when she was little. And apparently my wife had the same experience as a child. So I blame some bad gen(i)es for the unlucky fall.

On a totally separate issue, my wife and I went to see a show called Spirit of Broadway this past Saturday. The singing was good; the dancing not so much. At the beginning, they seemed to be kind of, well, not quite focused on what they were doing. But the second half of the show made up for that initial wavering, I guess.

Although I was really excited about the show, the performance I won’t forget for the rest of my life is a totally different one. It is the little dance that my now-big-lipped Les (left) performed last Thursday. It was her first time on the big stage and for me and my wife it was a true proud-parent moment. A moment worth sharing.
